The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation will participate in this year’s Rotors ‘N Ribs Helicopter Fly-In. The foundation will provide limited helicopter rides on board a UH-1 Huey or an AH-1 Cobra.
AAHF’s goal is to tell the U.S. Army Aviation story through participation in museum tours, school programs, air shows, and other public events like Rotors ‘n Ribs. The organization acquires, restores, and maintains vintage flying aircraft, particularly aircraft used during Vietnam and the Cold War. By doing so, AAHF hopes to honor the men and women who served in the U.S. Military and Army Aviation. AAHF pilots, or “Sky Soldiers” as they call themselves, serve alongside volunteers in conducting patriotic flying presentations, public helicopter rides, and more.
Guests who’ve taken a helicopter ride with AAHF have lauded their experience, often finding catharsis in keeping the memory friends lost in battle alive. Other guests say they’re thankful for the professionalism and patriotism of AAHF pilots.
